Since 1969, Children's House
Montessori School has continued to provide a progressive and
individualized learning environment for students. In 2006
Children's House educated over 150
students from 18 months to 12 years of age.
Montessori classrooms provide a prepared environment where children
are free to respond to their natural tendency to work. The
children's innate passion for learning is encouraged by giving them
opportunities to engage in spontaneous, purposeful activities with
guidance of AMI certified teachers and their assistants.
Through their work the children develop concentration and joyful
self-discipline. Within a framework of order, the children
progress at their own pace and rhythm according to their individual
capabilities.
The prepared environments are child centered communities that allow
exploration and are designed to facilitate independent and hands-on
learning. The Montessori curriculum is interdisciplinary and
interactive.
